Vocational Visions Hosted Its Annual Gala: Field of Dreams

On April 11, 2026, Vocational Visions welcomed our community to the Field of Dreams Gala, an evening inspired by baseball, where every player starts at the same place, and with the right support, finds their moment to step up to the plate.

The night was filled with energy, generosity, and meaningful connection. From the excitement of the live auction to a silent auction featuring more than 50 thoughtfully curated baskets, guests came together not just to celebrate, but to support something bigger. Our Fund-A-Need moment brought the room together in a powerful way, raising support for the programs that help our participants build confidence, develop life skills, and experience a greater sense of independence.

Some of the most memorable moments of the evening came through the voices of those closest to our mission. Heartfelt testimonials from Igor Solos and Karmann Scott offered a glimpse into their personal journeys and the real impact of our programs. Their words brought a sense of connection to the room and reminded us what this work truly looks like in everyday life.

CEO Tim Chervenak and Board Chair Dr. Linda Albers reflected on the journey each individual takes which much like in baseball, growth comes with practice, patience, and the support of a strong team behind you.

We were also honored to recognize this year’s awardees:

Igor Solos and Karman Scott, All Star Award;

Mary Thompson, Volunteer of the Year;

Rene Rosales, Most Valuable Player;

and Chris Saylor, Hall of Fame.

Each of them represents the dedication and heart that continue to move our mission forward.

This evening would not have been possible without the incredible support of our sponsors. We extend our sincere thanks to our Presenting Sponsor, KIA, along with Electron Beam Engineering, Inc., Cotti Foods, Craig and Amy Nickoloff, Enterprise Fleet Management, Top Notch Cleaning, Heffernan Insurance Brokers, Paycom, Konica Minolta, Saylor Computing, LLC, Banc of California, Rancho Mesa Insurance Services, and the many in-kind donors who contributed to making the night so special.

To our donors, board members, gala committee, volunteers, and guests, thank you for being part of this night. Your presence, your generosity, and your belief in this mission are what make moments like this possible.

Because of you, the work continues — creating opportunities, building confidence, and helping each person we serve find their place on the field.
