Mark Sorenson has served on our VV Board of Directors since 2013. Let's get to know more about Mark below in our Q&A.
Question: Time is a valuable commodity. What inspired you to dedicate some of your valuable time to Vocational Visions (VV)?
Answer: I had previously worked with Joan McKinney at Elwyn. When she moved over to Vocational Visions, I decided to move over too so I could put my help toward a more local charity.
Question: What line of work are you in?
Answer: I founded Pacifica Foods, a custom food manufacturer 20 years ago. Before that, I started a surf wear company called ‘Modern Amusement’. I also spent 15 years in investment banking and 5 years in accounting.
Question: Have you ever volunteered or worked with people with disabilities in the past?
Answer: I was on the Board of Advisors for Elwyn for 8 years.
Question: What is a quote about life that really resonates with you?
Answer: Enjoy life. Be positive, grateful and kind to everyone.
