Supported Employment Program

Obtaining & Retaining Employment

As well as serving individuals with developmental disabilities, Supported Employment now helps individuals with learning, psychiatric and orthopedic disabilities as well as those who have acquired brain injuries, are blind or are visually impaired. In the group setting, full time training and support are provided by the job coach. In the individual placement setting, initial training is provided. Support and job coach assistance are provided on an ongoing basis.

The goal of the Supported Employment Program is to provide services needed to enable participants to improve community to work independence; and enable them to obtain and retain employment in the community. Supported Employment sites include; car dealerships, parks, beaches, offices, grocery stores, manufacturing companies, a surgical equipment company, hardware companies, and the school district central kitchen. These businesses benefit by having competent, dependable and well-trained employees.
